When will I get my 2024/25 timetable?
Returning students can now access their 2024/25 timetable on the myɬ app or the ɬ Student Portal. Any students awaiting re-assessment results, then please note that your timetable is provisional and may change as a result of your re-assessments.
We recommend that all returning students log out of the myɬ app and log in again to ensure their timetable view is updated correctly for the 2024/25 academic timetable.
For students beginning their studies in September 2024, your timetable should be available within 24 hours of matriculation.

Requesting a Timetable Swap
Semester 2 Timetable swaps
Timetable swaps for Semester 1 will be processed between the 13th of January and the 7th of February 2025. These will be assessed and actioned in the order that they are received.
Please bear in mind that all changes will be considered; we cannot guarantee that swaps will always be possible.
We have strict capacities in all our teaching rooms which we are unable to exceed in any circumstance and therefore we can’t move Students to a different group without another Student agreeing to swap.
If you wish to move groups, you will need to arrange with another Student on the same programme to swap groups. The following process details how you can request a group swap:
- Not all programmes have multiple groups, therefore check the full timetable to ensure your programme has multiple groups. If your programme only has one group, then you are unable to swap.
- It’s not possible to swap some weeks only – all Student group swaps will be for the entire academic year.
- Arrange with a fellow Student, on the same programme, to swap groups with you.
- Only 1 swap per Student is possible, so please ensure you are happy with the groups you are swapping to. Please note, it may also be necessary to swap some of your other sessions to avoid clashes on your timetable. You should take this into account when requesting a group swap as there may be a wider impact than just the session you wish to swap.
- From your ɬ Student email address, email Timetabling (timetable@qmu.ac.uk), copy in the student you are swapping with and provide the following information:
- Your name and Student number.
- The name and Student number of the student you are swapping groups with.
- The group you are currently in and the one you wish to swap to.
Once this email has been received, the timetabling team will review the swap and process if possible. Email confirmation will be sent to both Students. Please note that the timescale for processing this may be up to 7 working days, and requests will be looked at in the order they were received. Group swaps are not guaranteed. Please ensure that you are attending your personalised timetable as you received it while you are awaiting to hear whether a swap is possible.
Having difficulty viewing your timetable?
If you are having difficulty viewing the timetable (i.e. missing module or room information) go to the timetable page within the app and press the refresh button in the top right hand corner.
It’s also important, if you are viewing your timetable on themyɬ app, that you are using the latest version of the app. Please ensure you have updated the app to the latest version via the app store for Apple iOS or the Google Play store for Android. If you are not using the latest version of the app you may see wrong information, or your timetable may be missing items which show for other Students who are using the latest version.
A guide on viewing your timetable through the ɬ Student Portal or Myɬ app can be found here.
What’s included on my timetable?
Your timetable will show both on campus and online activity which is delivered synchronously. Some lectures and some selected other activity will be delivered asynchronously, and these will not appear on your personalised timetable. Details of all asynchronous sessions will be available on the HUB.
For a small number of modules and programmes, students cannot be assigned to some groups in advance as this is done once teaching starts based on lists provided by academic staff. A list of these modules is below. If you are studying any of these modules, you’ll be added to appropriate groups as soon as the grouping lists have been provided, therefore some timetable events for these modules will not appear on your timetable until after the academic year has started. In some cases, grouping lists are only provided a few days before the sessions are due to take place.

Will my timetable change?
During the course of the year, it may be necessary for changes to be made to your timetable as classes may be cancelled if there is a valid reason. Cancelled classes may be rescheduled on a different date or time. It’s also possible for additional sessions to be added if there is a valid pedagogical reason. Because of this, it is important to check your timetable regularly for any updates; inthe case of urgent alterations to your timetable for that day, you’ll also be sent an email to your ɬ email address.
It’s also worth noting that your timetable may not be the same every week, as some sessions do not run every single week – your timetable may not follow a consistent “pattern” throughout the entire year. There are also some sessions, for some programmes, which must run in a certain week (for example, pre placement Health Science essential skills sessions) which will make some specific weeks different from others.
Are all semesters included on my timetable?
Yes, all sessions (either on campus or online) which are delivered synchronously are included on your timetable.
