From the 2023/2024 academic year Scottish domiciled students can access postgraduate student funding comprising听a maximum combined听tuition fee and living cost support loan of 拢11,500. Students starting a course in January 2023 will receive the loan of 拢10,000. Eligible students will be taking their first master's or postgraduate diploma course. Part-time students can access only the tuition fee loan. Eligible courses would receive the following 鈥�
- One year taught postgraduate diploma and master鈥檚 courses - a tuition fee loan of 拢7,000 and living cost loan of 拢4,500 for students starting in the academic year 2023/2024. Students in the academic year 2022/2023 will receive a tuition fee loan of 拢5,500 and a living cost loan of 拢4,500.
- Two听year part-time postgraduate diploma and master鈥檚 courses - a tuition fee loan of 拢3,500 per year for students starting in the academic year 2023/2024.
- Two year full-time master鈥檚 courses or postgraduate diplomas - a tuition fee loan of 拢3,500 per year and a living cost loan of 拢2,250 per year for students starting in the academic year 2023/2024. Students starting in the academic year 2022/2023 will receive a tuition fee loan of 拢2,750 in year one of their course and 拢3,500 in year two along with a living cost loan of 拢2,250 per year.
- Three year part-time master鈥檚 courses 鈥� for students starting in 2023/24 a tuition fee loan of 拢2,333 per year. Students starting in the academic year 2022/2023 will receive 拢1,833 in year one and 拢2,333 in years two & three.

EU citizens who have been resident in Scotland for three or more years (not for the purposes of full-time education) and have settled or pre-settled status may be eligible for home fee status and living cost support. Please consult the听for further information.
Support for distance learning postgraduate students
Online (distance learning) students can also access听the postgraduate loan set out above.听Full-time distance learners will be able to access the 拢4,500 living cost loan in addition to the tuition fee loan. Part-time distance learners will be able to access the tuition fee loan听as long as they register to complete the course in no more听than twice听the length of the full-time course.

PGDE 鈥� Post Graduate Diploma in Education, Secondary courses
These courses have a different funding arrangement to other postgraduate courses and are supported by SAAS through undergraduate funding arrangements.
English domiciled students can access a loan of 拢11,836 for their first master's course to be studied anywhere in the UK. This can cover one and two year taught postgraduate courses.
From 2018 onwards English students undertaking a two year pre-registration master's course in an Allied Health Profession can access the undergraduate funding package. This funding can be used for study anywhere in the UK.

Tuition Fees
Students from the Republic of Ireland have the same fee status as students from the UK, including Scotland. This means that students from the Republic of Ireland commencing a postgraduate course can access the tuition fee element of the postgraduate loan available from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland -听. For a one year course for students starting in the academic year 2023/2024 a tuition fee loan of 拢7,000 is available. For students on a two year full-time masters course starting in the academic year 2023/2024 a tuition fee loan of 拢3,500 per year is available. Students starting in the academic year 2022/2023 will receive a tuition fee loan of 拢2,750 in year one of their course and 拢3,500 in year two.
Irish citizens who have been resident in Scotland for three or more years (not for the purposes of full-time education) may be eligible for home student status and therefore can access the full postgraduate loan. Please consult the for further information.
