ɬÂþÌìÌÃ

My name is MD Rezaur Rahman. I choose to study MSc in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support because the modules will help me expand on what I’ve learned through my previous university and work activities to develop a future career within mental health field.

Your course experience.

What made you choose this course?

My life experiences as an ethnic minority individual have made me passionate about helping people from various ethnic backgrounds overcome any social inequalities and discrimination they face. However, such experience of inequalities negatively impacts their mental health and psychosocial wellbeing. Therefore, I hope this course will help me understand various aspects of the mental health field and gain the knowledge that will enable me to help others to improve their mental wellbeing.

What is a highlight of studying MSc Mental Health and Psychosocial Support?

This course brings the world into the classroom. The students came from all over the world, making it unique and enabling us to learn from each other. Also, our classes are very interactive and allow us to share our views on specific topics and, due to our diverse life experiences, the discussions are always fascinating and challenging.

The lecturers are very supportive and know how to get the best out of us; they also make you feel valued and are interested in listening to our views.

What support have you had whilst at ɬÂþÌìÌà and what student services have you taken advantage of?

I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time to get the necessary support and access the resources to enhance my knowledge, and ɬÂþÌìÌà has given me that platform, not only academic support but also advising me on my future career options through employment supports and placements.

The University's ELS (Effective Learning Service) is helping me improve my English too! So, all in all, I can say I feel part of the ɬÂþÌìÌà family, where I am very comfortable asking for help whenever I need it.

Would you recommend ɬÂþÌìÌà for others wanting to study this subject?

I would recommend the ɬÂþÌìÌà for anyone out there, especially those outsides of the UK who are unsure about choosing the right University for their future studies. I can assure you that you will never feel lost in crowd.
